What's your favorite cleaning tip?....

I know most of you know I am a green-freak. On cleaning day, my house mostly smells like pickles. When we put in our new hardwood floors, I knew that vinegar and water was the only way to go for me with cleaning it. It’s inexpensive, green and non-toxic especially with the amount of time my kids are on the floor. I had one of those giant soft mop head things with a separate spray bottle of my 50/50 mixture. The only pain was I had to lean over to spray with a squirt bottle then mop, then lean and spray,etc. Then I would have to wash the mop head. With the dog and kids in the muddy Midwest, I am doing this every few days. I had tried other spray and mop products before, but their cleaning solution was not green and toxic and expensive, the mop heads were disposable, which made it more expensive, not very environmentally friendly, and it had batteries to replace and recycle.

When Blogher asked me to try the Libman freedom mop, I was all over it. I have to tell you; I loved it .I could put the cleaning solution, my own cleaning solution right in the canister on mop handle and spray it with the trigger on the top with out having to lean over. I didn’t have to buy the special solution to go in it.

Once I learned to raise or lower the mop handle for where I wanted to spray to go, it was a piece of cake, I really appreciated that it was a squeeze trigger to dispense my cleaning solution of choice; so there are no batteries to have to recycle either.

The microfiber mop head really picked up the dirt, my only complaint is I wish it was a bit more absorbent, but it still worked really well and the floor dried fairly quickly. And since I had two mop heads, I could leave one on the ready to go and wash the other. My kids have been fighting over using it too. They actually think it’s fun. If that would only work for cleaning the bathrooms.

Dutch boy, can I hear whoop whoop!

Dutch boy sent me some awesome paint to try. It was awesome. IT's called Thunderstorm. It's from their new Refresh with Arm and Hammer baking soda. The ceiling is Whipped White.There was hardly a smell; and we could actually sleep in the room that night. And with no VOC's we slept well, and with my environmental heart, it made me happy.

Rub 'n buff giveaway...

Have you used Rub ' Buff? When the company offered to send me some to try, I was ecstatic. I had used the brown shade but I never knew it came in so many colors.

I was able to used the Antique Gold to bling up my vintage mirror a bit.

It want on so easy, but even though it says you can use your finger, I would wear a glove. I had a bit if a hard tie washing it off and it was a tad stinky.

But it made my mirror gorgeous.

I was able to add more easily when I thought it should be a bit heavier.

A little goes along way.

One tube will last you through many projects.

I love the browner shade for antiquing,

And there are at least 4 shades of gold to match any surface.

I was even able to take this antique mirror I recently purchased and cover a ding.

It's like Where's Waldo, can you see where it was?

I can tell you these candles are gorgeous.

They burn slowly and have the prettiest glow when lit, illuminating their design.

After my post about Columbus Ohio, North Market, I was so ga-ga over Jeni's ice creams that I contacted them.. They have graciously offered to do a giveaway with a six pack of their signature ice creams, shipped to you! With flavors like Dark Chocolate, lemon yogurt and Thai chili, how can you go wrong?

This is one of the tastiest, creamiest ice creams I have had in a long time. I mean if celery ice cream is amazing...And we also had a lemon blueberry, it tasted like the creamiest cheesecake frozen! imagine how the other flavors are!

I was even happier to find out they handcraft every bit of the ice cream from the caramel to the marshmallows, and not only are all of the products locally grown, BUT the milk is organic from grass fed cows, and you know what, you can taste it!

I was contacted by Ecostore USA to try some of their products. As natural kind of a gal, I decided ot give it ago.. I loved them! They sent me the baby wash which was nice, the Dish soap, which even my husband used and liked... and best of all a cream scrub.. which was amazing! It actually took the rust ring off from around my upstairs sink basin (which I had been bleaching for months to no avail!)! All of their products are natural and with out chemicals.
